Russo returns to Arsenal from England camp

Alessia Russo is the third Arsenal player to return to the club in what is proving to be an incredibly damaging international break ahead of two crucial UWCL semi finals against Lyon.

Chloe Kelly picked up a foot injury in training for England and had to return to Arsenal and faces a race against time to be involved against Lyon.

Goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar also returned after picking up an ankle injury for Netherlands. Our understanding is that early indications are that she is likely to be out for 5-6 weeks.

Now Alessia Russo will return after picking up a kick on the ankle in the second half of England’s 5-0 win over Belgium. Michelle Agyemang will take her place in the England squad.

Needless to say it’s been a frustrating and damaging international break for Arsenal with games against Lyon on 19 and 27 April.
