Newcastle would consider selling their £80 million important player to Arsenal before January transfer deadline
If recent reports are to be believed, Arsenal will be able to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
Since being taken over by Saudi Arabia, the Magpies have been very careful to ensure they do not break FFP rules and cause unwanted scrutiny, but the Magpies may be forced to redeem some of their most valuable assets to raise money for a transfer this summer.
After announcing a £73.4 million loss, chief executive Darren Eales hinted that the club may be forced to sell players to continue their recent upward trajectory.
ARSENAL is one team that could take advantage of this situation by transferring Brazilian midfielder Guimaraes, who is considered one of the best midfielders at the club and one of the best in the Premier League.
He currently has a £100 million clause in his contract and if they were to fulfill it, they would be powerless to stop him from leaving.
He joined the club for £40 million from Lyon in January 2022 and turned down Arsenal’s offer of a move to the north-east of England. The Brazilian has made 87 appearances for the club, scoring 11 goals.
Losing Guimaraes would be a huge blow to Newcastle, who have quickly established themselves as a fans’ favorite and a man Eddie Howe can really rely on – if he were to leave, it would be a huge loss.
Newcastle want to be a club that can compete for the Premier League title, want to play in the Champions League every season, but if they have to sell their best players, that will never happen.
However, even though he is a quality player, there is no room in Arsenal’s midfield and he may actually struggle to get a place in the team of the week.
