"I want to play in champions leagu"; £60 million midfielder announces ‘he is fully focused on Arsenal’ amid January exit talks with premier league clubs
Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is fully focused on the club – despite reports that he could leave this transfer window.
A few seasons ago, Smith Rowe was a member of the team that Mikel Arteta loved to play every week, but due to a string of injuries and some big signings at Arsenal, he is no longer part of the squad.
This has led to numerous reports in the media that West Ham and Chelsea are interested in a possible summer deal for him – and the Hammers have even approached the Gunners about a possible deal for the player.
But despite all the rumors and transfer speculation, the Gunners decided to keep Smith-Rowe and the player seemed happy enough to stay and fight for his place in the team.
However, he has struggled for real minutes in the team again this season and there have been some reports in the media suggesting that he could leave the club – Newcastle have been linked with a move.
Despite all the speculation and rumors, Smith Rowe is fully focused on life at Arsenal.
He said: “Rowe is very happy with his job: “It’s nice to be high up in the league, but in training you don’t think about that – you want to get better every day and keep improving. That’s what I like.
Everyone has to prove that they can play here, so that means you have to be the best in every training session. It’s a great environment.”
